Decenchro: an AI agent with an on-chain memory and audit trail

What it is

Decenchro is an AI agent that keeps a record of what it does. It runs Hermes, the open-source agent from NousResearch, and writes its memory and tool calls to the Chromia blockchain. You talk to it on Telegram, it remembers past conversations, and you can check the record later.

There are two ways to run it. The hosted version at decenchro.com lets you sign up and deploy an agent from a console that shows its status, memory, audit trail and cost. The local version is a clone of the public repo plus one setup script:

1git clone https://github.com/ChromiaAgents/decenchro-public.git
2cd decenchro-public
3./setup-local.sh

How it works

Memory on Chromia. The memory layer is a Rell module. Each agent owns a namespace with a read policy of private, shared or public. Memory entries carry content, source, tags and a confidence score from 0 to 100. Embedding vectors live in a separate entity so normal list queries stay light, and semantic recall ranks them client-side. Storing content that already exists in a namespace refreshes the old entry instead of copying it. Every write also creates a memory_audit row with the signer, the action and the entry id.

A guard before tools run. The decenchro-guard plugin hooks into Hermes' pre_tool_call step and sends selected tool calls (shell, file writes, web requests, memory writes) to the Atbash judge. The verdict maps to an action: ALLOW proceeds, BLOCK aborts with a reason, HOLD aborts and surfaces the call for operator review. An audit-only mode logs verdicts without blocking, so a new policy can be tuned before it is enforced.

Identity on BNB Smart Chain. Each deployed agent gets an ERC-8004 identity, and its audit trail is anchored there once a day. decenchro.com/agents is a public marketplace over that registry. The repo also includes a DeFi CLI the agent can drive (PancakeSwap v2/v3 and Venus) and skills for health checks, rebalancing, grid and yield strategies.

Hosted deploys. The console starts a Render service from a prebuilt agent image that already holds the agent, the Chromia skill and the guard. Each agent gets its own settings and its own disk. Recent work cut the image pull from about 985 MB to about 270 MB and added a weekly job that tracks the Hermes base version.
